Stitched Memories

This piece warms my heart.

It represents…….
new travels
the new feeling of stitching on wool
evening chats on the balcony
 afternoon tea
sewing circle of like minded souls
eco dying techniques shared by the lovely India Flint

Baby Pictures

I have one more idea to share with my students on how they can use photographs to personalize their journals. You can see the other class samples here.

When I was looking through my photo albums, the baby pictures kept standing out, so Babies became the theme.

Babies everywhere!

I used my parent's baby picture along with me and my husband and our 5 children. I made black and white copies to help blend and soften the cover.
With a splash of love (little red hearts).

Satin Stitch

I've been busy with a painting project and doing some winter hiking.
Hiking like stitching........calms the mind.

I really don't have a plan for this little piece.
Just stitching.

New Discoveries

I discovered these rice bags among old table clothes that belonged to my mother.

They have a nice feel to them, and I think they will make good backing for a quilted piece.

I also discovered that some cotton fabrics do not tear well.

The fraying on this heavy weight cotton fabric was uncontrollable, so I think this particular cloth will end up being used as embroidery thread on a later project.
